THE demolition of Millom’s community swimming pool has inched ever closer today following a decision by a county council committee.
Councillors sitting in Kendal voted 13 in favour with none against that the county council had followed the correct legal process in paving the way for demolition.
Campaigners watching from the public gallery at County Hall in Kendal shouted “shame on you” and “see you in court” as the vote was counted.
The Save Millom Pool Group has alleged the pool has been rundown to make the case for knocking it down – claims strongly denied by the county council.
