THREE familiar faces from BBC North West Tonight will lead a 100 mile relay across the region to raise money for BBC Children In Need.

Presenters Roger Johnson, Annabel Tiffin and Dianne Oxberry will be joined by Pudsey Bear as they walk from Walney Island to the Wirral coastline.

Annabel and Roger will start the relay by walking 20 miles on the first day and then other BBC NWT presenters and reporters will join throughout the course of the week, from 12-16 November.

The news team will also meet local charities that have benefited from BBC Children in Need along the way and they are hoping people will come out and support them.

The route starts at Earnsea Point on Walney Island in Barrow-in-Furness finishing up on Friday afternoon in Wallasey village on the Wirral.

On Monday 12 November Roger Johnson and Annabel Tiffin will lead the walk through Barrow, Dalton, Lindal, Swarthmoor and Ulverston.

The full route detailing which streets the presenters will be walking on and on which days can be viewed online at bbc.co.uk/nwt from Friday 9 November. Donations to BBC Children in Need can also be made online.

Roger Johnson said: “BBC Children in Need is my favourite time of the year. So many people in the North West give generously and it’s a privilege to meet those whose lives are changed.

"Plod for Pudsey will give us chance to meet lots of fundraisers and those who’ve been helped, so I’m really looking forward to it."
