A LAKE District hotel has been shortlisted for a competition which compares views from around the North West.

Lakeside Hotel has been listed as one of the most beautiful in MyGlazing.com's Window With a View competition.

The competition returned for its third year to find the UK’s best view from a window.

The Lake District hotel will go head-to-head with Refuge Manchester, Manchester House and City Tower, Manchester in a fight to take the North West title.

Lakeside Hotel will now face a public vote to decide a winner from each region across the UK.

The competition invited anyone living in, visiting or working at any building, including homes, offices or public attractions, to take a picture from a window that has a particularly impressive view.

Hundreds of entries have been cut down to the best from each region by a judging panel made up of experts from the glazing, architecture, photography, property and interior industries.

James Lee, director of marketing at MyGlazing.com, said: ““This year we have opened up the competition to even more buildings and attractions than ever before.

"We have been impressed with the high standard of images we have received and delighted that so many people have captured the beauty of the UK from iconic landmarks to new hidden gems.

"Good luck to all of the shortlisted entries.”
