A VILLAGE pub and brewery has got behind a vibrant music festival to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

The Prince of Wales pub, in Foxfield, has produced a brand new beer in honour of the Rock the Fells music festival that will hit the small village of Bootle in less than two weeks time.

Described as a light, smooth blonde, with subtle floral notes, the beer has already proved to be a hit with the punters as the pop-up pub in Bootle sold out in just one weekend.

Trudy Harrison, one of the managers of the pop-up pub that will be set up in Bootle, said: "The festival is all about new and exciting adventures - so having a new, specially commissioned ale just seemed like a great idea."

Stuart Johnson, owner of The Prince of Wales brewery, was happy to produce the beer to help raise awareness of the event which is raising money for the Fighting Fitz campaign.

This campaign was launched by a group of friends who set out to raise money for Cancer Research UK in honour of Barrow primary school teacher, Danielle Fitzsimons.

Mrs Harrison said: "While the festival was born out of a really heartbreaking story, Danielle’s Fighting Fitz campaign has brought about a fantastic event.

"With camping on Wellbank, the organisers have everything in place for a really great weekend."
