POLICE are searching a rural area of Cumbria following a report of a paraglider having experienced difficulties.
At around 9.10am this morning Cumbria Constabulary received a single report from a member of the public who reported having witnessed a paraglider having swiftly descended in the Isel area, near to The Lakes Distillery in West Cumbria, possibly in distress.
No missing person report has been received.
Initial searches have been carried out, including with the help of a police helicopter, but have so far proved negative. More officers are now on the ground carrying out a search of the area.
Anyone who witnessed the paraglider in trouble or who has information which may assist is asked to call 101 referencing incident number 36 of 23 March 2017.
