MORE than 25 works from internationally-recognised artist Daniel Cooper will go on display in South Cumbria at the start of April.

Land Marks is the Furness-based artist's first solo show of 2017, and will be held at the Beach Hut Gallery, on Kents Bank railway station.

Cooper will be showing new landscapes of the Lake District, painted in mixed media, and a selection of framed charcoal drawings.

His emotional response to the Cumbrian landscape and weather has received worldwide acclaim, and his work now features in collections across the globe.

His art has appeared on national publications and seen on UK television, and last year he was shortlisted for Cumbria Artist of the Year.

This latest collection of original artworks is inspired by some of the finest views of Cumbria; to the dramatic peaks of the fells to moonlight on lakes.

Cooper says: "This exhibition makes visible the contrasting moods of The Lakes, something that often happens on a good walk, whatever the season."

Founded in 2008, and an artists co-operative, the Beach Hut Gallery exhibits some of the finest art and craft in Cumbria.

Permanent artists include Fran Brown, Martin Copley, Judy Evans, Robin LeMare, Laura Pendlebury and Lake Artists Society member Beverley White.

The gallery hosts group and solo shows throughout the year, offering a fresh and unique experience of contemporary art in Cumbria.

Land Marks will be on display from Saturday April 1 to Sunday May 14. The Beach Hut Gallery is open from 10.30am to 5pm each Wednesday to Sunday.
