A CUMBRIAN jungle and drum 'n' bass night welcomes one of the genre's leading bass music producers later this month.

Dance Culture's Blooming Big Bash at Bootleggers, in Kendal, on Saturday March 24 is set to feature a headline set by Jinx In Dub.

The UK DJ and producer has been responsible for taking the dub breaks sound to new and higher levels over the years.

Having started back in the late 90s, Jinx in Dub has bridged the gap from dub to club, and has found his own unique sound which has moulded in to a far wider spectrum of styles and tempos of dub beats and breaks.

As well as remixing for the likes of The Dub Pistols, Dreadsquad and Phaeleh, he's also had high-profile releases on Sub Slayers and Ed Solo and Deekline's drum 'n' bass imprint, Jungle Cakes.

Alongside Jinx In Dub, there will be an appearance from Tony Starks - a member of Ring The Alarm soundsystem, and resident for Breakout and Rubaglove. He has been playing the underground music scene in the North West for a number of years, sharing the stage with acts such as Fabio and Grooverider, General Levy, Marvelous Cain, DJ Zinc and Randall, as well as many others.

Completing the line-up is a selection of local DJs, including residents 6ft Skankin, Westhead and DJ Carcrash.

The Dance Culture nights have grown over the past couple of years, moving to Bootleggers recently having outgrown Ruskins Bar.

Dance Culture's Joe Mills says: "We are really looking forward to hosting such a great event for the underground music scene in Kendal and Cumbria as a whole.

"Our town and county can often be forgotten when thinking about successful club nights, and we aim to change this by bringing heavy weight selectors to the area.

"Having someone such as Jinx In Dub playing in Kendal would have been unheard of for us growing up, so to be able to offer this to people now fills us with a vast amount of pride and joy."
