VETERAN folk band Hunter Muskett are back in Cumbria for two live dates this week.
Originally formed in 1968, the band reformed after almost four decades apart and are back on the live circuit in support of 2013’s album of new originals, That Was Then, This Is Now .
On Thursday night they play live for the South Lakes Music Partnership in Ulverston. An addition to the monthly programme to accommodate this revered act, the show will feature material from throughout their career alongside traditional folk and blues numbers. Doors open at 7.45pm and entrance is payable on the night.
Then on Friday they move on to Zeffirelli’s, in Ambleside, upstairs from the cinema – this time for an 8.30 start.
Hunter Muskett were big players on the London folk scene in the late 60s and early 70s, but branched out to play shows in Europe and one appearance in Morocco, and also notably supported Ralph McTell on a nationwide tour.
The band split in 1974 after the dissolution of their label, but returned in 2010 with original members teaming up for a one-off show which eventually led to occasional tours.
