FURNESS live music promoters Unity staged a successful all-day event at Barrow’s Forum 28 venue back in 2001 with a mixture of DJ sets and bands on the stage providing plenty of entertainment for rock and pop fans.
The first of the live acts on show at Duke Street was guitar specialist Steve Superglider” Ralph, followed by young band Synko who brought alongtheir own following of fans.
Next on stage was four-piece band The Magic Toyshop and then The Prophets.
The Mail, on February 13, noted: “Chesterfield’s WORM was the highlight of the day for many, winning new fans with their mix of punk and humour.
“Headliners and local ‘it’ band 12ft Machete kept up the hard edge, a worthy closing set tempting out a few closet John Travoltas from the back of the Forum’s main hall.
“Unity added a much needed showcase for local musicians and gig-goers alike to the 2001 entertainment calendar.”
