A LOOK at some of the stories behind the gravestones at Ulverston cemetery will start a new season of talks for the North Lonsdale Society on Tuesday.
Rod White's presentation starts at 7.30pm at the Blackburn Room in the Neville Street Methodist Church, Ulverston.
On October 9, at the same time and venue, Andy Lowe will talk about Lakeland Bridges.
November 13 sees the visit of Dr Rob David with a talk called An Oriental Influence in Cumbria and on December 11 the topic is A History of Grasmere Gingerbread.
January 8 will sees a presentation on Life on the Home Front in the Two World Wars
On February 12 Neil Whalley will describe Gleaston Castle and the Manor of Muchland.
The topic on March 12 is Lord Birkett of Ulverston and the speaker is Jack Rice.
