PROSPECTIVE buyers will face stiff competition to snap up a home at a premier housing development.
Since being announced earlier this year, the eight-home housing development in Ulverston's Ford Park has attracted more than 100 potential buyers.
The site, known as The Beeches will consist of three to five-bedroom homes.
They will be completed in the new year, with prices ranging from £375,000 to £550,000.
Carolyn Walsh, sales director for Lancet Homes, one of the developers, said: "One hundred and twenty people have shown a lot of interest. What we're going to do is a VIP invitation day to Ford Park. It will be the first time buyers can meet us face-to-face."
Would-be homeowners will have to be able to move fast if they want to secure one of the properties.
Mrs Walsh said: "To be eligible to purchase they have to be able to move in straight away. People can't reserve a house if they have one to sell."
Ford Park Community Group has been working closely with the developers, a joint venture between Lancet Homes and Modlar.
The construction of the homes will mark the end of a three-year relationship between the developers and Ford Park, after the sale of the land secured the community group's future.
Ford Park Community Group CEO, Ali Alger, said: "It's been a thoughtful development and the collaboration has been there since day one. What started as a development has become much more.
"The development has been a challenge, but from my perspective there has been an authenticity and integrity that I've seen throughout this process."
Buyers will get the chance to learn more about the development at a VIP event held on November 26.
Mrs Walsh said the aim of the meet-and-greet was to expose applicants to the type of lifestyle they would have in Ford Park.
She said: "We're looking to create an experience, not just give them a house."
