A NIFTY strategy to help people stay savvy in the digital age has been launched successfully in Ulverston.
A Festival of Learning was arranged by town councillor Mark Wilson, aimed at helping older members of the community learn online skills.
The withdrawal of several banks from the town and the widespread swing toward online-only services sparked concern the town was not ready for the future.
Early in the summer the Ulverston Library opened its doors for a Festival of Learning day, aimed at helping navigate the sometimes tricky world of tablets, computers and smart devices.
Cllr Wilson said: "We had a good group of pensioners, and near pension age - me - who took part in the festival."
