POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a gas cylinder was put through the window of the car.

A black Vauxhall Zafira, which was parked unattended in School Street, Barrow, had its window smashed by the offender who is believed to have then used a shovel to clear the remainder of the glass and search inside the vehicle.

The incident happened overnight between 10pm on November 20 and 7.30am on November 21.

Anyone who can help the police with their investigation is urged to contact them on 101, quoting Log 36 of November 21 or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
