A 26-YEAR-OLD Barrow man has apologised to the court for his "unacceptable behaviour" after pleading guilty to acting drunk and disorderly in a public place after a boozy night out.
Jack Cooksey, of Osborne Street, Barrow, appeared before Furness Magistrates' Court on Tuesday after he was arrested for being abusive towards a police officer outside Theatre Bar in Barrow at approximately 2am on November 19.
The defendant, who represented himself in court, said that he had been out to celebrate with a group of 15 others after leaving his job. However, after getting the last train home to Barrow, he accepts that he should have gone home instead of going out to more clubs.
Presiding magistrate, Mrs Lynne Slavin, appreciated that the defendant was celebrating but said that there was no excuse for being drunk and disorderly.
Cooksey was fined £100 and made to pay a victim surcharge of £20 as well as court costs of £85.
