Barrow couple Lorna McIntosh, a 27-year-old children's social worker, and Michael Jones, a 32-year-old principal operations engineer at BAE, tied the knot in a sunny, seaside wedding on Saturday 14 May.

How the couple met: Lorna's sister Ailsa and Mike's brother Paul are best friends and the couple were introduced by their siblings.

Proposal: Mike surprised Lorna with an overnight stay at Lorna's 'dream venue' Storrs Hall, Windermere, after stopping there for a drink following a meal in Bowness. When they arrived Lorna was greeted with 4 balloons saying 'Will you marry me?' along with champagne, chocolates and flowers. Mike got down on one knee and said: "Lorna, I love you, will you marry me?" and the answer was a resounding yes!

Venue: Abbey Road Baptist Church, Barrow.

Theme: Classic and traditional with a teal and silver colour scheme.

Bride's Outfit: A Mori Lee Dress from Eternity by Nina.

Groomsmen: Matthew Sloan (best man), Paul Jones, Mark Daly, David Herrington, Peter Mills and

Aaron-Jon Mellor (page boy).

Bridesmaids: Ailsa McIntosh (maid of honour), Charlotte Cooper, Roxane Lawson, Laura Liddicott and Laura Kay.

Junior Bridesmaids: Caitlin McIntosh and Jessica Grisedale and Bella Cooper (flower girl).

Flowers: POSH Flowers, Rawlinson Street, Barrow.

Transport: Two Bentleys, hired from John Wilson.

Reception: The Fairway hotel, Hawthwaite Lane, Barrow.

Table settings: Efflorescence of Barrow. Beautiful tall vases with teal ribbon and flower poses on top stood on a light up Base.

Cake: A stunning four tier cake made by Sugar Pie, Barrow.

First Dance: 'Close Your Eyes' by Michael Buble, sung by the bride's sister, Ailsa McIntosh and the groom's brother Paul Jones, with music by Graeme Park. The couple were honoured to have such a beautiful and personal touch.

Entertainment: Phil McIntosh, father of the Bride, sang 'I Loved Her First', followed by the amazing wedding and cover band, Sugarfoot. Later, guests enjoyed a disco by Dan Hayze.

Honeymoon: A mini-moon at Rookery Hall, Cheshire and the couple are planning a big honeymoon for later this year.
