STUDENTS at Walney School had to earn their tickets to the biggest night of their school lives at the Abbey House Hotel, in Barrow.
PROMS AT OTHER SCHOOLS:
The school offered Year 11 leavers the incentive of a ticket to the end of term prom in exchange for merits earned through achievement and behaviour.
More than a hundred pupils and staff headed to the hotel for the occasion, which traditionally celebrates the end of final year exams.
Head of Year 11 Rebecca Lever said: "I picked them up in Year 7 and I have seen them all blossom over the past five years.
"It was an absolutely amazing night and everyone looked stunning. With it being in Barrow, they all made their own way there and we had people turning up in Ferraris, and Limos.
"The "passport to the prom" really worked, with students being rewarded for attendance, good behaviour and attitude towards work. For some of them it was probably the main focus of the year!"
