Jon Peter Staffieri, a senior quality control inspector at BAE Systems married Rachel Margaret Bloor, a registered mental health nurse at St Cuthbert's nursing home in Aldingham in a spectacular music themed wedding.

Jon, who is originally from Askam-in-furness, now lives in Barrow with his sweet heart Rachel, and the couple had a glorious summer day for their melodic celebration.

Date of wedding: Saturday 28 May 2016.

How they met: On a night out in Barrow over four years ago.

Proposal: Jon did it the old fashioned way, asking Rachel's mam and dad's permission to marry their daughter. Jon then took Rachel to London for the weekend to see a West End show, the adaptation of her favourite film, Dirty Dancing. After the show he then proposed in Leicester square, Rachel cried and couldn't wait to phone her family and friends with the news.

Venue: The service was held at St Peters Church in Ireleth, this was Jon's church as he was growing up and the reception was held at The Villa at Levens.

Theme: The couple had a music themed wedding due to Jon's Love of music. They chose music sheet confetti cones, the tables were named after some of the couple's favourite bands. The box for wedding cards was a guitar case and guests were greeted by a music quartet which played a variety of the couple's favourite songs. The colour scheme for the wedding was mint green and peach.

Bride's Outfit: Rachel's dress was from Eternity by Nina in Barrow. She had been to numerous shops and tried on various dresses until she fell in love with a two piece ivory dress made up of a sparkly fitted bodice, an off the shoulder jacket and a ball gown skirt.

Groomsmen: Ian Grandison (best man), Anthony Staffieri (Jon's Brother), Jonathan Todd and Rob Fugler.

Bridesmaids: Sarah Bloor (maid of honour and Rachel's Sister, Laura Backhouse and Beth Gundry.

Flowers: By Emma Currie from Efflorescence Ltd in Barrow.

Transport: Wedding cars were provided by John Wilson from Walney.

Reception: The reception was held at The Villa at Levens. Guests arrived around 2pm and were greeted by a red carpet, a music quartet called the Northern String Quartet and Magician, Joel Dickenson.

The guests were entertained as they received a choice of cocktails or Peroni on arrival along with a variety of canapés. Guests mingled outside as the bride and groom had photographs and then made their way down to the pavillion where they were handed champagne on entry and a three course meal was served. A band called Ulpha 590 entertained guests during the evening and everybody enjoyed a hot, summery day.

Table settings: The table plan was made from two wooden ladders decorated with homemade vases in a burlap, peach, mint green and lace with white flowers, string was then attached between both the ladders and a variety of CD album covers (from the couple's favourite music albums) was pegged on to the string with people's names attached. The Table centre piece was a tall glass with a big ball of gypsophila and smaller vases of peach flowers. The table had a mint green and lace table runner.

Favours: Wedding favours were The Christie NHS Foundation Trust brooches for the adults and little Christies teddy bears for the children. Rachel's mam had recently received Excellent Care and Treatment for lung cancer from he Christies Hospital in Manchester and the couple wanted to give something back to such a great cause.

Cake: Made by Donna Corr of Corrs Cakes in Barrow. It was a four tier cake with cascading handmade peach and mint green flowers.

First Dance: Last of the Ladies by the Courteeners. Rachel then had her second dance with her Dad to Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton.

Entertainment: Northern String Quartet and Magician Joel Dickinson welcomed guests on arrival and band Ulpha 590 entertained guests during the evening reception.

Honeymoon: Jon and Rachel spent five nights in Las Vegas where they watched a variety of shows and visited the Grand Canyon via helicopter, followed by five nights in New York.
