A LOLLIPOP lady is ready to wear a fancy costume for a full week in aid of a local charity.
Clare Parkin, a lollipop lady for Croftlands School in Ulverston, is raising money for St Mary's Hospice while wearing a fancy costume during her work days.
The 47-year-old woman is going to wear different outfits every day which were donated by her friends. The costume selection range goes from Elvis Presley to Luidgi, a banana, Buzz Lightyear, a fairy and an inflatable chicken.
The lollypop lady will carry a bucket with her throughout the week which people can donate to.
Clare said: "I am quite a quirky person so I just thought to make myself even more quirky and raise money for the hospice by raising up in anything and everything really.
"I am holiday out working and I thought I might as well just be silly for a few days by wearing a costume while I am lollipopping - it is just a random thing.
"A lot of the parents are going to stay in the car waiting to see me dressed up."

Clare explained she is raising money for the charity because she has lost two family members due to cancer.
"My uncle died in the hospice years ago and my father died at home. The hospice has been so helpful to a lot of families and people that I know," she said.
Clare, who has been a lollypop lady for two years, has set up a JustGiving page and has so far £77 raised of her £500 target.
"I am really looking forward to it - better not be raining," she concluded.
Collection boxes can also be found at Headlines Hairdresser in Croftlands, Croftlands Launderette and Croftlands school reception.
