A TROUPE of South Cumbrian rugby league veterans decamped to Leeds for the Masters Festival.
The Barrow and District team – aided by a few players from Leyland Warriors – played matches against York Lokos and Crosfields Masters, coming away with two draws.
The poor weather at the start of the day did not dampen spirits, as 157 players from 14 different teams took to the field in Leeds.
At the presentations after all the matches finished, Barrow’s Jamie Marshall was voted Masters Player-of-the-day.
The next festival is at Crosfields, Warrington, on Saturday, August 13.
Anyone aged 35 and over interested in taking part can contact Shaun McPoland on 07720 849306 or turn up at one of the Barrow training sessions, which take place on Mondays, at 7pm at Redwaters.
