IT'S a proud time for Roose Pioneers, with three club veterans set to represent the GB Masters team in their historic Test match against New Zealand in Rotorua tomorrow.
Ian O'Neill has been chosen to captain the side from stand-off. Another former Barrow and Pioneers player Ian McAllister, who has earned man of the match awards in a couple of warm-up games, will be his half-back partner.
And completing the trio of Pioneers players, prop forward Shaun McPoland is also in the squad and is expected to feature.
After two successful games at the International Masters festival in Rotorua, the GB Masters touring party will play their first ever international against New Zealand Masters in the early hours of Thursday morning (BST).
After scoring a try in the warm-up match against Ponsonby, winger Chris Quinn will also play, while fellow West Cumbrian, prop Mike Hillon, is also included the squad.
