A YOUNG Millom team rattled up the club's highest-ever score as they thrashed Stanley Rangers in National Conference Division Three.

A side featuring eight under-18s players – all of whom have played together at Devonshire Road since under-eights level – made short work of the Wakefield side to move into third in the table.

The win eclipsed Millom's 78-0 home win over Stanley earlier in the season.

Lee Postlethwaite led the romp with a hat-trick of tries and 13 goals from 16 attempts, for a personal tally of 38 points.

Other tries for Millom came from Rickie Donaghue (2), Niall Harris (2), Dom O’Brien (3), Ethan Bickerdike (2), Joe Wright, Tyler Lancaster, Jonathan Hodgson and Dane Kelly.

The Woollybacks were able to climb to third as a result of Barrow Island losing 42-16 to Gateshead Storm.

Tries in defeat came from Chris Burns, Ian Irvine and Blain Marwood, the latter of whom added one conversion, with one also coming from the boot of Sam Jones.

Millom leap-frog the Island on points difference and have a week off before the two clubs meet at Rating Lane on Saturday, July 7.

Leaders Beverley dropped their first point of the season following a 22-22 draw at Eastmoor Dragons, but stay ahead of Clock Face, who crushed Salford City Roosters 86-0.
