ULVERSTON were too strong all-round for Dalton in the Barrow and District League KO Cup, as they triumphed 34-10.
With no games in the league this week, due to the the Kendal Calling Festival, the Dragley Beck side have extra time to reflect on victory against a spirited Dalton team
But Dalton can take heart from defeat, as they fielded five 16-year-olds.
Ulverston had match-winners in ex-Millom player Jordan Moyes, with two tries, Keiron Potter (2), Ryan John and Joel Smith. Connor Saunders landed 4 goals and Moyes also kicked one.
For Dalton, Ross Clayton and Brad Richards went over the whitewash to score. Scott Paisley kicked a goal.
A sterling second-half performance saw Askam go into the next round with a 34-18 victory over Barrow Island.
The Island fell away in the second half after the scores were level 12-12 at half-time.
Island's 16-year-old debutant Shane Sanderson scored two tries, and James Howden the other. Luke Worral-Thompson kicked three goals.
For Askam, Brad Jackson caught the eye, scoring two tries and landing six goals. The Villagers' other try-scorers were Mike Wilson, Dave Finlayson and Stuart High.
The draw for the semi-finals sees Askam host Walney and Ulverston entertain Hindpool.
A midweek league match this week saw Barrow Island defeat Walney 34-24 to move clear at the top of the Furness Tile and Flooring standings.
