BARROW Island and Roose Pioneers do battle again tonight when they face of for the right to take on Askam in the Barrow and District League Top Four final.

Askam secured their berth in the decider at Craven Park with a 52-6 victory over Walney Central

Luke Holloway, Luke McIntee, Gradi Slater, Dave Finlinson, Brad Baker, Dale Lampton, Jack Cairns and Brad Jackson were the Askam try-scorers, plus eight goals from Jackson. John Corkhill got Walney’s consolation try, which Danny Johnson converted.

Island will be hoping to produce a similar result to the final game of the regular seasonwhen they defeated Roose 36-12. A hat-trick of tries from Luke Thompson, plus single scores from Sam Attard, Reece Craig, Dec Odomwolo and Jake Carter helped Island seal the win. Carter kicked four goals as well. Roose’s try-scorers were Corne Els and Dominic Carlson, with Adam Batty converting both tries.

Askam ended the league season with a 34-18 win over Dalton, with Stuart High, Taylor Carter, Sam Broadley, Gradi Slater, Luke Holloway scoring tries. Brad Jackson landed five goals and Cameron Cooper kicked two.

Dalton responded with tries from Joe Crarey – who kicked two goals – Ryan Baines and Jack Crarey. Scott Paisley added another goal.

The CJS Knock Out Cup final between Askam and Hindpool Tigers at Craven Park has been brought forwardto Thursday, September 14.
