ROOSE Pioneers take on Askam tonight in the Barrow And District League's Top Four Final at Craven Park (7pm kick-off).

Pioneers reached the final after defeating league champions Barrow Island at Rating Lane 36-22.

Ade White led the way for Roose with two tries. Ryan Cunningham, Don Coulson, Corn Els, Danny White and Adam Batty also crossed the whitewash, with Batty landing four goals.

Island, who had several youngsters in their ranks with under-16s player Harry Higgins making his debut, crossed the whitewash through Lee Dutton, Lewis Sayle, Tez Nuteo and Shane Sanderson. Callum Dale landed three conversions.

If Roose Pioneers can put out a decent side they will be more than a match for a young Askam side, who will be looking to take the trophy after losing out to Ulverston in last season's final.

Pioneers have lots of experience in their ranks, and whatever the outcome it is sure to be a thrilling game. If Askam do take the win, it is nothing more than they deserve as they have been in second place in the league all season.

The final will be followed by the Barrow and District League holding their presentation awards in the Raiders Bar. All welcome.
