Try-scorers for Askam were Sam Broadley, 3, Lee Norman, Andy Rhodes, Stuart High, 2, Cameron Cooper, Conner Bradley and Brad Jackson, 2. Jackson also kicked nine goals.
For Millom Sy Robertson, 2, Conner Tyler and Ian Armstrong were the try-scorers. McCauley Bowman landed four goals.
Dalton dropped back into second place even though they had a resounding 34-24 win over Walney.
Roose Pioneers remain in third place after defeating bottom-placed Ulverston 12-6. Dan Sharp and Lee Moss were the Roose Pioneers try-scorers, with Euan James kicking two goals. For Ulverston Danny Crabtree crossed the whitewash and Marc Storey booted the conversion.
Despite being at the lower end of the table, Hindpool put up a sterling performance against Barrow Island going down 40-28.
Can Askam remain in top spot as they go to Barrow Island tonight?
Dalton should be too strong, with Ulverston being the visitors to Kelland Park. Walney travel to Millom in a game that could go either way. Maybe home advantage could favour the Woollybacks.
Elsewhere Hindpool have a tall order as they go to Redwaters to play Roose Pioneers.
