NATIONAL Conference league action takes centre-stage tomorrow, with the trio of South Cumbrian teams in action.

Millom start a run of home matches as they face Woolston Rovers, while Barrow Island are back at Rating Lane after a high-scoring win last weekend.

Askam round-off the fixtures, as they travel to Yorkshire.

Walney Central play in the North West Men's League Division One, travelling to Pilkington Recs A.

Hindpool Tigers were due to face Rochdale Mayfield in the same division, but their game has been postponed as the visitors cannot raise a team to travel to Brisbane Park.

MILLOM v WOOLSTON ROVERS

(Devonshire Road, 2.30pm)

FOLLOWING a week off, the Woollybacks are back in action with the visit of Woolston Rovers from Warrington.

The home side start a run of three successive home games in National Conference Division Three, and the six points is the aim of coach Tom Sibley from those games.

The former BARLA Great Britain international forward said: “We are ready for Woolston after having a week off to refresh, and if we are to be promotion candidates we have to target six points from these games.

“We should be pretty strong, and with a good home following expected we are quietly confident that we can get a win.”

Sibley returns to the squad along with Connor Sykes and Noah Robinson, but Tyler Lancaster (shoulder), Niall Harris, Lee Postlethwaite and Owen Myers are unavailable.

Prop Dane Kelly, who has had a knee clean out, is back in training but not yet ready for action. He should be available in the next two weeks.

BARROW ISLAND v EASTMOOR DRAGONS

(Rating Lane, 2.30pm)

ISLAND face a much tougher opposition this week after their 90-12 demolition job on Stanley Rangers.

Eastmoor Dragons – who crashed to a shock 42-22 home defeat to Clock Face last weekend – are a point behind the Island in fourth National Conference Division Three.

“Last week's game was pleasing in some factors – we scored some very good tries and had to defend strongly at times,” said Island coach Joe Elliott. “The lads grew in confidence with ball in hand.

“All credit to Stanley; they are re-grouping and though they are bottom of the table and having some heavy defeats, they still turned up with 15 players.”

Jake Carter is unavailable for the visit of the Dragons tomorrow, while the forwards are boosted by the return of Matt Parkinson and Carl McBain. The final squad will finalised after tonight's A-team game.

STANNINGLEY v ASKAM

THE chase is on for the Villagers in their quest for an automatic promotion place in National Conference Division Two.

They are currently fifth and four points adrift of second-placed Dewsbury Moor, six behind their hosts tomorrow.

Askam coach Dave Clark said: “We need to get wins under our belt if we are to push for those automatic spots, and what better way than taking points off Stanningley.

“We also have to gain others wins, and if we perform to our potential then we could return with the points.

“You do need a consistent team out on the park each week, but that doesn't happen and we are gutted that Joe Satterthwaite is out with a shoulder problem – he was showing good form at seven.

“Veteran Mike Wilson has bridged the gap alongside Adam Jackson.”

Russ Bolton, Stu High, Sam Shepherd and Sam Broadley are all ruled out of tomorrow's game.

PILKINGTON RECS A v WALNEY CENTRAL

STUART Tippett and Josh McBain return for the Cents, who are back on the road after their defeat last week at Rochdale Mayfield A in North West Men's Division One.
