DALTON and Millom contest the Harry Warman Cup final at Craven Park tonight.

The two sides have done well this season.

Millom have come back into the league with several young lads who have come out of their under-16s, and to reach the final is a great feat.

They have been coached by Craig Wilson, who has moulded a good all-round young side, with a couple of experienced players thrown in.

“A the beginning of the season, we were struggling, but as time went on more players came back to steady the ship,” said Wilson. “To get to the final is great for all concerned.”

Opponents Dalton have been among the top three in the Barrow and District League all season.

They are a young side who never know when they are beaten, with seven lads who have come from last season's under-16s, which can only be good for the future.

The team are coached by Cumbria county boss Dave High, who is proud of his side and hopes they can play to their potential tonight.

He said: “These lads coming out of the under-16s have played well all season, and if we stick to our game-plan and keep our discipline then we should be okay.”

High is not underestimating Millom though, recognising they have come on leaps and bounds as the season has progressed.

Tomorrow night, the bottom two sides in the Barrow and District League play each other as Hindpool host Ulverston.

Both clubs have two points, neither wants to finish bottom, and they are sure to pull out all the stops.

Third-placed Askam travel to Walney, where a win would move them up to second. But Walney, presently sixth on 10 points, will know victories in their remaining two games would lift them to fourth, the final play-off spot.
