MILLOM face another hurdle in their quest for National Conference Division Three promotion tomorrow.

The Woollybacks welcome Waterhead to Devonshire Road, while Askam return from a long lay-off a division higher.

Hindpool are the only South Cumbrian North West Men's League side in action.

MILLOM v WATERHEAD

(Devonshire Road, 2.30pm)

MILLOM seek the double over the Oldham side in their quest to finish in the top two.

In fourth place going into the game, the Woollybacks are without Connor Tyler and Charlie Emslie, who are both on Scottish Under-19s duty in Serbia, while Connor Mitchell is doubtful.

Back in contention is Tyler Lancaster, with others to be added following last night's Harry Warman Cup final against Dalton.

Coach Tom Sibley is looking for an extended run of wins as Millom press for promotion, though he is aware that Waterhead will be no pushovers.

He said: “Waterhead are having a good run at the moment and had a good win (18-16) over Dewsbury Celtic last week.

“But we have to push on and fight for second with Barrow Island and Clock Face just above us.

“We have also had a good run of late, with only a defeat at champions Beverley last time out (38-18) interrupting it. I am quietly confident of getting the win, and the lads are in good spirits.”

HINDPOOL TIGERS v ROCHDALE MAYFIELD A

(Brisbane Park, 2.30pm)

THE Tigers aim to put last week's 72-12 defeat at Widnes Tigers behind them as they take on leaders Mayfield in North West Men's League Division One.

Coach Phil Cubiss is more than confident the Rochdale side will turn up at Brisbane Park – not always a guarantee with visiting teams in the division.

The Hindpool stalwart said: “Many teams don't travel this way, but I have been assured they will come. And why won't they, as the title is within their grasp?

“We travelled with the bare 13 last week, and Darren Clark helped us out – he's 45 and he got two tries.

“It will be a mix and match side of first and A-teamers – it's that time of the year, but we will compete.”

HULL DOCKERS v ASKAM

THE Villagers are keen to get back on the field after a four-week lay-off due to hard grounds, but they face a long trip to Humberside in National Conference Division Two.

Coach Dave Clark has a rare occasion with almost a full-strength squad to choose from, with Tom Spedding back after knee surgery.

Clark said ahead of the four-hour-plus trip: “It is good to be back playing – we need to get back into it and start pushing for a top-six place.

“Top-two may be out of the question, but there are the play-offs to aim for.”

He added: “The season has been extended by two weeks, which eases matters as we didn't want midweek games.

“We know what we have to do – myself and the players”
