ASTIN Mossop was on hand to help inspire the next generation of rugby league players in Millom when Wigan Warriors were in town for their Easter rugby camp.

The forward, whose father Andrew and uncle Steve both played professionally – along with cousins Nathan Mossop and Bradd Crellin – joined the Super League side's under-16s set-up last year and joined two of their community coaches for the event.

A total of 17 children aged between four and 11, including some who had travelled from Hindpool Tigers, were at Millom Recreation Centre for the camp to try a variety of rugby-related activities, along with gleaning some insights from Mossop.

Coaches Tom Marsh and Reece Hampson oversaw the sessions, introducing the children to the game of 'knockers and grabbers', which tested one player's grip of the ball, and the strength of others to knock it out of their hands.

This was just one of the many games the children took part in, with them also playing stuck in the mud, capture the balls and a game of tag.
