YOUNG athletes got in on the act at the Dalton Charter 10k last Friday as they took part in a one-mile fun run around the town's cricket pitch.

The run saw young runners in various age groups taking part on a night when the adults took to the town's streets for the main event.

Leven Valley and Hoad Hill Harriers were both well-represented by their junior sections, along with unaffiliated runners taking part.

There was also a contingent from Barrow Amateur Boxing Club who were involved in the fun run too.

It was two Leven Valley members who set the fastest times, with Freyah Nelson the quickest girl around the course and her brother Jakob the fastest boy.
