An impressive total of 27 former Barrow captains are expected to be present at the Rakesmoor Lane clubhouse for the event on Thursday (7.30pm) – including 100-year-old retired doctor Jim Rogerson.
“It’s not often you get to have dinner with a former captain of the club who is 100-years-old,” said Bill. “We have done well to get 27 former captains out of 30-odd and it should be a great night.”
Dr Rogerson enjoyed a special 100th birthday celebration back in August when he was a special guest at Everton’s Premier League home match against Stoke City.
He was introduced to the crowd and had special birthday wishes flashed onto the big screen at Goodison Park before witnessing the Toffees win the game 1-0.
“It will be a great honour to have Jim Rogerson with us,” said Bill.
