THERE was drama aplenty in an exciting round of Furness Premier League midweek matches.

On Wednesday night there were goals, draws and comebacks galore as Premier Division leaders Kirkby United drew 4-4 with a young and improving Walney Reserves.

Sixteen-year-old Luca Fleming (2) Seth Storey and Jimmy Burns scored for Walney, who were 4-1 down with 10 minutes remaining.

Sam Pinnegor (2), Wilson and Jackson netted for Kirkby.

Third-placed Barrow Celtic couldn’t take advantage as they drew 5-5 with Hawcoat seconds.

Celtic were also 4-1 up at one stage in the game, but Matty Pickering (2) Mike Wilkes (2) and Carl Mackay brought Hawcoat level.

Rob Johnson, Zak Parker, Connor Smith (2) and Jack Dulgnan scored for the Celts.

Croftlands drew 2-2 with Britannia.

Ben Mooney and Ross Walker grabbed two goals each.

Haverigg beat Holker Reserves 1-0 thanks to a John Chmiel goal.

Furness Cavaliers Reserves beat Millom Reserves 3-0 thanks to goals from Sean Critchley, Ben Tiffney and Chris Benson.

Vickerstown and Coniston had their match abandoned with five minutes left on the clock after a nasty-looking injury to Vickerstown keeper Josh Tranter. Let’s hope he is back playing soon.

Holker Old Boys sit just one point above the relegation zone as they lost 3-0 at home to AFC Blackpool in the North West Counties First Division.

Crooklands Reserves were in goal-scoring mood on Tuesday as they beat Barrow Wanderers 5-2.

Andrew Benson led the way with a hat-trick, and Ben Phizacklea and the evergreen Terry Anderson got one apiece.

Jed Wilkinson and Ross Shields replied for Wanderers.

Swarthmoor Reserves also had a goal-fest as they beat Haverigg Reserves 7-0.

Callum Kelmsley (2) Chris Callister, James Seward, Lewis Sullivan, an own goal and a beauty from Peter Spence made up the tally.

Bridge United lost 2-1 at home to Ormsgill. Ste Crompton and Damo Millican scored for Ormsgill. Marcus Robinson fired home for Bridge.

Dalton United Reserves beat Bootle 3-1. Mark Jones (2) and Rob Baker were the Dalton marksmen.

Hawcoat A beat Vickerstown A 3-2. Lewis Turner (2) and Ryan Muncaster were on target for Hawcoat. Lachlan Garnett and Ian Rogers replied for Vickerstown.

Barrow Celtic Reserves went down 3-1 against Askam Reserves. Andy Graham scored for Celtic.

Furness Rovers Reserves drew 0-0 with Millom A in an entertaining game not reflected in the scoreline.
