Barrow have been handed a trip to Championship side Preston North End in the quarter finals of the Lancashire Senior Cup.

The tie will take place at North End's Springfield’s Training ground on Tuesday November 19 with a 1pm kick off.

The Bluebirds progressed to the quarter finals after a dramatic win over Oldham Athletic in the last round. Two goals from Jack Hindle and one from Morgan Penfold took the tie to penalties after a 3-3 draw.

A thrilling shootout ensued, with all eleven players on each team (including both goalkeepers) taking spot kicks before Oli Greaves scored the winning penalty in sudden death.

Bluebirds manager Ian Evatt is looking forward to the game, which will give him the chance to give game time to those players who don’t currently find themselves in the match day squad.

"It's another good opportunity for us, Preston are a good football club and they're in the Championship with some very good players," he said.

"I don't know what sort of team they will play but that's irrelevant to us, we have to go there and play our way with the same philosophy, the same intensity with our work ethic and hopefully we can get another result there."

Details for supporters wishing to attend the game are not yet available, but North End are understood to be making arrangements for supporters to be able to watch the game if they wish.
