Barrow AFC will have virtually a fully-fit squad to choose from for tomorrow’s match at Chesterfield, with Patrick Brough, Josh Kay and Byron Harrison all set to be available again.

The trio missed last Saturday’s 1-0 win against Yeovil Town due to various injuries, but thankfully they have all turned out to be minor, meaning manager Ian Evatt has plenty of options for a period where the Bluebirds will play two matches in three days.

Kay could end up facing his old club at the Proact Stadium, although Harrison will have some work on his hands to displace Scott Quigley up front, as the former Blackpool man has scored in his last three games.

Evatt said: “Everyone is back training, apart from Johnny Saltmer, so we’ve got a fully-fit squad.

“Josh Kay is back training, Patrick Brough was back training on Thursday, so we are fully-fit and raring to go and we’ll need to be because we’ve got two games in three days, so it’s going to be tough.

“They’re two difficult games as well because Chesterfield is always a difficult place to go - it’s a big stadium with a big pitch - and then we’ve got a home game against Halifax, who had the wood on us last season and we probably owe them a couple.”

The return of left-back Brough is a particular boost as it comes just after a week after he was forced off in the early stages of the match against Stockport County with a hamstring strain.

Evatt said: “Obviously we were sensible and he was sensible because he put his arm up straight away and he didn’t continue and risk making it any worse.

“We got him off and luckily for us it was a slight strain, so we got him back in training on Thursday and we’ve got him back prepared for the weekend, while it adds to our competition for places.

“Looking at our squad, if you take the centre-half position out, even now we have competition there with Josh [Granite] being left out on Saturday and Jason stepping back there, we’ve got competition all over the pitch.”
