Barrow AFC manager Ian Evatt was thrilled with how midfielder Oliver Greaves coped with his first start in senior football last Saturday, as he helped his side to victory over Yeovil Town.

Greaves, who is on loan for the season from Sheffield United, was one of four players brought in for the match against the Glovers, where the Bluebirds ground out a 1-0 victory that may not have been pleasing on the eye, but was vital nonetheless.

Along with his fellow19-year-old Olly Dyson, Greaves making his full debut for AFC and he grew in confidence the longer the match went on as he looks to become the latest successful loanee for Evatt from the Blades.

Evatt said: "Oli has been great, he's come on in the last couple of games and really shown us what he can do.

"I thought on Saturday, especially in the second half, he was excellent. That bit of magic on the wing where he flashed the ball across the face was brilliant. It was great to see and there's more to come from him."

The win against Yeovil marked the first time in a year that Barrow have recorded back-to-back victories at home and Evatt is now hoping his team can keep showing the levels of calmness they displayed during the game.

He said: "Back-to-back wins, back-to-back clean sheets, not bad for a team who can't defend.

"We're a work in progress and you can't get carried away with early-season form."
