Barrow AFC look set to be without left-back Patrick Brough for several weeks after he limped out of Tuesday night's 3-2 defeat at Stockport County with a hamstring strain.

Brough will certainly miss the Bluebirds' match against Yeovil Town tomorrow evening, with his place looking likely to go to Connor Brown, who came on for the 23-year-old in the 11th minute at Edgeley Park.

It has been a stop-start life at Holker Street for Brough, who arrived from Falkirk earlier in the summer, as he had only recently recovered from a bout of tonsillitis that forced him to miss three of AFC's pre-season friendlies.

It's a fresh blow to Barrow's under-pressure defence, with manager Ian Evatt saying: "He's got a hamstring injury, which is not ideal and that probably changed our plans [at Stockport] with the back three.

"But I thought with the way they were carving through us in the first half, we were being overrun in wide areas and midfield and we needed to change shape.

"We did that and we did get control back in the game, but we just had moments of madness that cost us dear."

Evatt has also backed Dior Angus to come good in the aftermath of the striker, who is yet to score this season, passing up several great opportunities in front of goal during games so far.

Evatt is happy with how Angus is playing overall, saying: "He needs a goal, simple as that. Whether one goes off his backside or hits him on the shoulder or whatever else, he needs a goal.

"As much as he gives off the impression that he's confident, when you're missing chances like he is doing at the moment it is going to affect you.

"The pleasing and positive thing is he's getting them opportunities and I have firm belief that he will start taking them.

"He has to start taking them because the team rely on him. He's a big player for us, he causes defenders a lot of problems and it's just that final piece of the jigsaw that's missing at the moment."
