NICK Wilmer-Anderton has rejoined Barrow AFC and could go straight into the team for today’s National League clash at Guiseley (3pm).

The left-back impressed in nine matches for Barrow last season after joining on loan from Preston North End in December 2014.

But his season was cut short when he suffered a fractured shin bone and serious ankle damage in a 2-0 victory at Leamington in February.

AFC boss Darren Edmondson has been looking for cover on the left-hand side of defence after Neil Ashton was taken off injured in the 4-1 defeat at Wrexham last weekend, and Wilmer-Anderton fits the bill.

The 19-year-old – who played on loan for Aldershot in their 3-1 win at Holker Street in September – has signed on youth loan deal terms until December 5.

Mo Fofana has been loaned out to his former club, Conference South side Oxford City, for the same period of time, as Edmondson juggles his pack in a bid to rerverse AFC's poor form of late.
