BARROW Raiders player Delaine Gittens-Bedward has been called up for international duty.
The forward has been named in Jamaica’s 20-man squad to face Wales next week.
And he could find himself up against a Raiders team-mate, with Max Clarke being announced as one of 11 uncapped players in Wales’ 26-man squad for their series of autumn internationals.
Gittens-Bedward joined Raiders in April on a one-year deal, and went on to make eight league appearances. He was also named as 18th man on five other occasions.
Jamaica’s squad for their upcoming test against Wales at the Lextan Gnoll, Neath on Tuesday, primarily features players from the English game – the exception being Sydney Roosters’ Alex Young.
Following Tuesday’s game against Wales, Jamaica will fly out to face Canada in Toronto on Saturday, October 19.
