FURNESS Raiders recorded a second successive victory, with a fine 36-12 win over Park View College of Chester-le-Street.
The Raiders went behind in the opening minutes, but once into their stride there was only going to be one winner.
Park View were first with points on the board with swift play enabling full-back Nathan Murray to join the line and score an unconverted try 0-4.
Barrow then applied pressure only for Rio Walker to be pushed into touch.
More good work saw Josh Blinkhorn held up with Dan Knott held inches short of the line.
However, pressure paid off when Issac Barber prised open a gap to score and Walker converted 6-4.
Minutes later, at the other end, four Raiders defenders combined to halt a Park View attack.
Furness almost scored again only for Sam Atkinson to lose the ball crossing the line.
A fine sweeping attack by the home side enabled Tyler Brady to score and Walker to convert 12-4.
When put under pressure, good defence by the Raiders kept Adam Rocks at bay prior to Dan Knott making a fine break over halfway, but his opposite number Murray pulled off a textbook tackle.
On the half hour mark a neat pass from Will Scott sent Barber in at the corner, 16-4, which turned into 20-4 at the break with a Finn McMillan try.
Ten minutes into the second period Dan Knott went through a gap to dot the ball down following a scrum, 24-4.
Park View came back with a second try from Murray 24-8.
Murray then made a good break for the visitors, hogging the touchline, but the cover was on hand to force him into touch.
Seth Woodend extended the home lead with a well-taken try converted by Walker.
He then rounded off the scoring with a conversion to Woodend’s second try, following an unconverted try for Park View.
Dalton and Hindpool travel to Thatto Heath for the North West Men's Leagues Play-Off Finals.
Dalton take on Westhoughton who beat Hindley last weekend, while Dalton were winners over St Cuthbert’s.
Missing this week is Ben Atkinson with a broken hand, but they welcome back Ioan Hayes.
Dalton completed the double over Westhoughton, but are expecting a tough game as their opponents had a good run in towards the end of the season to finish second.
Hindpool take on Widnes Westbank minus top try scorer Connor McDermott and Reece Craig who are injured, but back in the 20-man squad are Daryll Archer and Scott Lawson.
Hindpool are well prepared and go into the game with confidence.
