Dave Johnson, a season ticket holder at Holker Street, is making the journey down with three of his friends.
He said: “It’s going to be difficult against a Premier League club but we played well on Saturday and we’re top of the league.
"Anything could happen in the game, but I’d be happy to keep it to a respectable score line. If we could score a goal it would be great.
“We’re not expecting to win the game but stranger things have happened. It could be the biggest upset in years.
“We’re going to have a few beers and enjoy ourselves.”
Close friend, Terry Burns, another season ticket holder at Barrow, travelled with Dave to Middlesbrough and Sunderland for the FA Cup ties.
“It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity,” Terry said.
“We might never get the opportunity of a match like this ever again. It’s all about supporting the local town.
“I hope Chelsea give all of us the gate receipts to us. The money tonight will help to pay the players wages for some time.”
Glenn Cheshire, who has been a Bluebirds fan since he was five years old, is hopeful of going one step further this season under Stephen Clemence.
He said: “They’ve improved from where they were last season already and the board have made some great signings. They’ve really recruited well with some of the youngsters they’ve brought in.
“It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity for Barrow fans to enjoy a match against Chelsea. They’re one of the biggest teams in the country.
“I’m not very confident of a cup upset but you never know.”
