BARROW AFC head coach Stephen Clemence has been shortlisted to win the manager of the month award for August.
It comes after the Bluebirds boss took nine points from his first four games last month – three of which were clean sheet victories.
The Bluebirds currently sit in third position in Sky Bet League Two but would have gone top of the table at the weekend on goal difference had it not been for Swindon Town’s dramatic late equaliser.

Clemence’s only defeat came in the Cumbrian derby where his side were narrowly beaten 1-0 away to Carlisle.
Since taking over the reins from former head coach Pete Wild in the summer, the 46-year-old has implemented a free-flowing style that is more appealing on the eye.
He has also been shrewd enough to trust his solid Barrow defence.
Clemence is nominated for the award alongside Mark Bonner (Gillingham), Johnnie Jackson (AFC Wimbledon) and Mat Sadler (Walsall).
All winners will be announced on September 13 (Friday).
The Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel comprises former Barnsley manager Danny Wilson, Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, and Sky Bet EFL trader Ivor Davies
