TWO streets will be closed this weekend ahead of a televised sports match.

The match, between Barrow Raiders and Huddersfield Giants, will take place at the Matt Johnson Prestige Stadium on Sunday, March 27 with kick-off of 4.30pm.

The club is currently working with the council to confirm overall capacity for the clash.

The Giants have won the Challenge Cup six times but have not reached the final since their 2009 defeat by Warrington Wolves while the Raiders famously won the coveted trophy in 1955.

Barrow Raiders said they have applied for road closures for Willie Horne Way and Clive Street.

The BBC outside broadcast team will be filling Clive Street with their production vehicles, with the first of them arriving Saturday lunchtime.

The application is from noon on Saturday until 9am Monday.

The club said: "We are sorry for any inconvenience and we will be offering free tickets to car owners who usually park overnight in this area."
