A CHARITY dedicated to removing barriers which can exclude disabled people is paying a visit to Barrow AFC this weekend.

Liam Bird from Level Playing Field will be a guest at The Dunes Hotel Stadium for Saturday’s game against Mansfield Town.

Level Playing Field is dedicated to working to remove the barriers that can exclude disabled people, campaigning and advising to ensure all people can enjoy live sports events equally and that all venues are fully accessible and inclusive.

Liam is Fans Liaison Officer for the organisation and will be attending the weekend game to meet Steve Herbert and Stephen Forbes, who are heading up the Club’s newly former Disabled Supporters’ Association.

Prior to kick-off, Liam will be given a tour of The Dunes Hotel Stadium to see the Club’s current disabled facilities and discuss the plans for improvements in the future.

“We’re actively engaging with organisations like Level Playing Field to make sure we’re getting the best advice on how we can keep improving,” said Stephen Forbes.

“The Club is doing everything it can to take on board feedback from disabled supporters themselves to ensure the matchday experience at Barrow is one everyone can really enjoy.”

Fans who wish to meet Liam, Steve or Stephen to ask questions are advised to head for The Cross Bar at 1.30pm on Saturday.
