BARROW Island made it two wins on the bounce with a 36-18 win at previously undefeated Millom in the Cumbria area of the National Conference.

Island shot into a 12-0 early lead with the damage coming from former Woolyback Noah Robinson, who crossed for a brace of tries with the conversions from Sam Jones.

A Ross Brookes try and Jake Newbegin goal reduced the arrears to six only for the Island to go in at the break 18-6 with Elliot Campbell crossing for a try converted by Jones.

Shortly into the second half Max Moore and Nathan Sneesby touched down for the visitors, converted by Jones. In the final quarter, Brookes went in for his second try converted by Newbegin, but it was the Island who had the final say with Brandon Corrie dotting the ball down for Jones to convert.

In the North West Men's League, Ulverston emerged 20-18 winners against Hindley after trailing 12-10 at the interval. Hindley missed the opportunity to share the points when they chose to kick for goal from a penalty but failed.

Tries came from Johny Hutton, Steve O’Connor, Joe Hambley and Keiron Chadwick with two Connor Saunders goals.

Ulverston ‘A’ team secured a 52-18 win over Millom as Dan Johnson led the romp with four tries while others came from Max Nisbet, Andy Mckie, Josh Catlett, Che Smith and Zac Mooney, with Evan Foster adding eight goals from nine attempts.

In the Barrow League Barrow Island booked their place with Millom in the Knockout Cup final with a 14-8 win over Walney Central.

Barrow Ladies had a comprehensive 40-points-to-nil victory over Oulton who had two players sent off. Tries came from Michelle Larkin 2, Beth Pattinson 2, Kea Friend, Jodie Crawford, Claire Geldard and Jodie Litherland who added three goals with one coming from Olive Sykes.
