BARROW Island will play on their new Rating Lane pitch when they play their first Conference game against Askam.

Back in the fold is Adam Ford after the winger was released by Barrow.

However, injuries and holidays rule out Ryan Clegg, Joe Mallinson, Scott Hadwin, Josh McBain, Nathan Sneesby, Matt Parkinson and Cameron Currie.

On the plus side, Jack Sutherland, Elliott Campbell and Jack Newby should all be given the green light.

Askam have their own problems with key players Joe Satterthwaite and Jamie Butler ruled out. Playmaker Satterthwaite sustained a shoulder injury in last week’s defeat at the hands of Millom, while Butler took a knock to the head.

Brad Kavanagh is back to replace Butler, otherwise it will be a similar 17 that lost to the Woolybacks.

Coach Gary Bolton said: “It will be a tough game but I feel confident after looking back on the Millom game.We were in with a shout at times but we have to be more consistent.”

The North West Mens League second division side Hindpool Tigers go into their home clash against Westhougton Lions full of confidence after last week’s 16-16 draw with Springview.
