BARROW AFC are set to find out who their Carabao Cup and Papa John’s Trophy opponents will be this season.

The club were already bracing themselves for Thursday as the EFL announces the fixture lists for Championship, League One and League Two teams at 9am, and now The Bluebirds will discover their cup opponents later on the same day.

Round One draws for both the Carabao Cup and Papa John’s Trophy will take place live on Sky Sports, starting at 3.40pm this Thursday.

A total of 35 fixtures will be drawn for Round One, which includes EFL Cup debutants Sutton United, and newly-promoted Hartlepool United.

The Round One draw will see teams drawn in Northern and Southern sections, with matches scheduled to take place week commencing 9th August. Clubs are able to mutually agree an alternative date between 31st July and 4th August.

At 4.30pm the Papa John’s Trophy Round One draw will be held.

The 16 invited U21 teams, including Liverpool and Manchester United, will be placed into their respective Northern and Southern section groups, with the 48 EFL clubs placed into pre-determined groups prior to the draw. Consideration has been given to ensure travel time is minimised and recovery time is maximised for players.

The draws will also be available to watch live on EFL Twitter.
