THE captain for Barrow Raiders Ladies is urging for fans to head down to the Matt Johnson Prestige Stadium this weekend for what is a 'potential title decider' following the side's opening two wins of the season.

The women's team beat Keighley Cougars 50-10 in what was a close-run affair in the first half before Barrow kicked into another gear and blew the opposition away in the last 40 minutes.

Captain Jodie Litherland, one of the many try scorers, said: "This was our first game at our new ground, but it was a pity that it was behind closed doors.

"We did receive support from fans afterwards though when the public were allowed in for the marquee later on though which is great to see.

"The men are away next week so we are hoping all the Raiders fans will come and watch us at home this weekend. It is potentially a title decider as it is the two best teams in the league and having that support could be the difference in getting over the line."

Last week they beat Halifax 54-4 in a game that Litherland said did not do the other team justice, and they will hope for a similar result against Leigh on May 23 when fans are in attendance.

"When you are tired and you have your back against the wall that cheer from a supporter could just give us that extra edge," Litherland continued. "We are looking for a big push for fans this weekend to come and see what we are all about."
