BARROW Raiders have announced two exciting new signings following their win at the weekend over Coventry Bears.

The Raiders are welcoming former Super League and Hull FC utility back Hakim Miloudi and former Whitehaven hooker Sam Dowsett.

The 27-year-old Frenchman Miloudi last played for Toronto Wolfpack in the Championship and Super League before the coronavirus pandemic and Dowsett parted ways with Whitehaven RLFC last month.

Director of rugby Andy Gaffney was pleased to announce the two latest additions to the squad following some unfortunate injuries at the start of the season.

"Sam's issue was his work commitments and he was going to go and play for an amateur club in Roose Pioneers and with Shaun Lunt leaving the club it will leave us light.

"So, it was a no brainer to try and get him on board.

"With Hakim, he is an absolute superstar, and his agent Graham Taylor was great in making the signing so smooth.

"The crowd is bound to love him!"

Mr Gaffney went on to explain that a previous trip to the club and the sensational crowd with his former team led Miloudi to put pen to paper and sign for Raiders.
