Barrow AFC boss Michael Jolley was pleased the Bluebirds were able to finish off the January transfer window by getting two final incomings through the door.

The Holker Street outfit signed Mikael Ndjoli from Bournemouth and Burnley’s Mace Goodridge after the 11pm transfer deadline on Monday night, as the club submitted the necessary paperwork on time.

Monday also saw Dior Angus leave Barrow for Wrexham, with Harrison Biggins being recalled by parent club Fleetwood Town, where he will be reunited with new assistant coach David Dunn.

Although the club had completed most of their business before Monday’s deadline, these two arrivals have only added to an already successful transfer window according to Jolley.

Speaking to the club's website, he said: “There were lots of possible outcomes for us on Monday.

“Overall, we wanted to get the bulk of our business done before the end of the window and I think we managed to do that, so we weren’t sitting there panicking on the last day.

“We just had a couple of little bits we wanted to finish off and I think with Mace and Mikael we’ve done a decent job in the window, so now we can breathe out a little bit and really start to work with the squad.”

Ndjoli and Goodridge were Barrow’s eighth and ninth signings of the transfer window.

Having only been appointed as manager in December, Jolley was clearly eager to reinvigorate his squad as they look to climb up the league table and stay in League Two this season.

The 43-year-old has added players across the pitch, with Neal Eardley, Bobby Thomas, Tom Davies, Daniel Bramall, Ollie Banks, Jamie Devitt and Dion Donohue all joining in January too.

Meanwhile, a date has been set for the rearranged fixture between Barrow and Grimsby Town after it was postponed due to a waterlogged Holker Street pitch.

The fixture will be played on Tuesday, March 16 with a 7pm kick-off.
