A Barrow footballer could be set to join a Premier League club.
Ben Davies, who plays for Preston North End in the Championship, has been attracting attention from Sheffield United according to Sky Sports.
The centre-back hails from Barrow and played for Furness Rovers until he was signed by Preston as a 11-year-old.
Now, Sky Sports are reporting that Sheffield United Manager Chris Wilder is keen on bringing the 25-year-old to Bramall Lane during the January transfer window.
Wilder is chasing centre-back cover after first-team starter Jack O’Connell sustained a serious knee injury.
With Davies having six months left on his contract at Deepdale, the Barrovian could sign for Sheffield United on a free transfer next summer.
